Assistant Teacher

We are seeking a happy, loving, kind, passionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year. The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Teacher to provide a nurturing and engaging learning environment for children. As an Assistant Teacher, you will assist in the implementation of lesson plans and activities, supervise children, maintain classroom cleanliness and organization, and communicate with parents and caregivers. The job is rewarding and challenging, and every day is different.  

Resposibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and lessons for children.  
  1. Supervise and interact with children in a positive and nurturing manner. 
  • Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment. 

  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers. 

  • Assist with daily tasks such as preparing snacks, cleaning up after activities, and setting up the classroom for the next day. 

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with young children in a preschool preferred. 

  • Knowledge of Christian values and a commitment to creating a Christian-based learning environment. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. 

  • CPR certification required with training provided.

Early Care and/or After School Care Teacher

St. David's Episcopal School is in search of qualified applicants to care for a small group of our students before normal school hours and/or after normal school hours (7:15-8:30 a.m. and/or 2:30-5:30 p.m.). Applicants must have experience working with children and a nurturing and engaging personality.  A High School diploma is required, college preferred.

Substitute Teacher
